Morey’s Landing Slide Stabilization and Stormwater Improvements
The banks of a tributary drainage to the Willamette River that flows through the Morey’s Landing residential area, has been experiencing extensive erosion. The erosion caused slope stability issues for adjacent properties. AKS initially provided survey services of the property as part of the temporary measures to stabilize the area. Six months later, the City of Wilsonville asked AKS to lead a team to design improvements to provide a permanent solution to the erosion issues and stabilize the slopes. AKS provided engineering design and surveying of repairs to the stormwater main and outfall, channel restoration, and slide repairs. AKS worked with geotechnical and environmental subconsultants to evaluate the geotechnical issues and obtain the necessary US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) permits. Construction of slide repairs were completed in 2012, with construction of drainage improvements scheduled in 2013 following USACE permit approval.
